How to fill in the expense list
Enter one expense per line, as description;amount — for example: Lodging;1200, followed by Car rental;450 on another line. The tool automatically adds up all the amounts.
Difference from a simple bill split
Unlike a "split the bill" calculator for a single expense (like a dinner), this tool adds up several different expenses across the whole trip — lodging, internal flights, activities, food — before dividing among the group.
Settling who paid what
If during the trip one person paid for the hotel and another paid for the tours, enter in the payments field how much each one paid (one line per person, as name;amount). The calculator compares what each person paid against the equal share they should pay, and shows who is owed money and who still needs to pay to balance things out.
Frequently asked questions
Is the split always equal among everyone?
Yes, this tool splits the total equally among the number of people entered. If some people spent very different amounts by choice (e.g. a private room), adjust manually or handle that cost separately.
Do I need to fill in who paid what?
It is not required — without it, the tool only shows the total and each person's share. Filling it in also computes the settle-up of who owes or is owed by whom.
Is the data saved anywhere?
No — the whole calculation happens in your browser and nothing is sent to any server.
