Everything happens locally in your browser, using the HTML5 Canvas API — the image is read, drawn onto a canvas and re-exported in the new format without ever being sent to a server. That means instant conversion and full privacy.
About GIF and PNG
PNG is lossless and supports transparency — the resulting file tends to be larger than an equivalent JPG, but at full quality. Note: if the source GIF is animated, only the first frame is converted — the result is a static image.
