How the split works
The total bill amount (including the tip, if entered) is divided evenly by the number of people: amount per person = (bill × (1 + tip ÷ 100)) ÷ number of people.
Difference from the tip calculator
This calculator focuses on splitting the amount among a group — useful for dinners, trips and shared bills in general. If you only need to calculate a tip without splitting among several people, use the tip calculator.
Uneven splits
This calculator does an equal split (everyone pays the same). For splits proportional to what each person actually consumed, you'll need to add up each person's items manually before applying the tip.
